You may have noticed the "Fresh From Florida" logo on our packaging, and we're proud to carry it. It's easy to assume a label like this is just a marketing sticker, but for seafood, it's backed by law. According to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, if a product carries the Fresh From Florida logo, it's required by law to actually be from Florida. A supplier can't legally put that logo on fish sourced from somewhere else.

That matters more than it might seem. Seafood mislabeling is a real problem nationwide, and Florida's consumer protection guidance specifically warns shoppers to look for the logo as a safeguard against being sold something other than what they paid for. For us, meeting that standard means our tilapia is genuinely raised right here in Florida, not just marketed that way.

The University of Florida's IFAS Extension puts it simply in its own guidance for buying local seafood: always look for the Fresh From Florida seafood logo, and buy from reputable, licensed suppliers. It's one of the most straightforward ways for a shopper to know exactly what they're getting.

For us, carrying the label isn't about a marketing boost. It's a public commitment that when you pick up our tilapia, you're getting fish that was actually born, raised, and finished right here on our farm, backed by the state's own enforcement, not just our word for it.
